Description
BEXIS2 is a free and open-source community-driven web-based research data management system [1,2]. That extensible and customisable system allows the development of new functions and modification of its various components from database schemes to the user interface. In the Microverse cluster, we are instantiating the system as a meta-data management platform, which facilitates the reach metadata annotation using ontologies and controlled vocabularies, data provenance preservation, and semantic integration of different types of data acquired in microbiological experiments or collected in the natural environment. In this contribution, we will provide technical details on the BEXIS2 architecture, demonstrate current development, and discuss several cases of minimal information standards (REMBI [3], MARGARITAS[4], MIAPE-GE[5]) implementation.
The work is supported by the grant provided by Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation), Projekt ‘EXC 2051: Balance of the Microverse’, No 390713860.
